DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
OVERVIEW
The Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach (CMSPB) seeks a Development Manager to join our dynamic team. This new, full-time position supports the organization’s commitment to fostering sustainable growth and deepening relationships with donors, sponsors, corporate partners, and the Board of Directors. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Development Manager will oversee a range of development activities, including donor relations, gift processing, benefit delivery, board relations, and special event management. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, keen problem-solving skills, outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills, a donor-centric approach, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Work Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Candidates must reside in or near Palm Beach County to meet the needs of the position effectively.
Schedule and Compensation:
Office hours are weekdays 9am-5pm. Limited flexible scheduling is also possible as some evening and weekend work is required to support event needs.
Compensation offers a salary range of $55,000–$65,000, plus benefits including health insurance reimbursement and retirement savings plan.
POSITION DUTIES
Donor Services and Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for donors, ensuring prompt and personalized communication through calls, emails, and other correspondence.
- Process gifts and ticket orders, issue acknowledgments, and ensure donor data accuracy in CRM system.
- Oversee the timely fulfillment of donor benefits and maintain a high standard of service.
Development Operations
- Draft solicitation and stewardship letters and manage the mailing process for annual campaigns.
- Conduct prospect research to identify potential donors and corporate partners.
- Coordinate and schedule donor meetings and events with Executive Director, including preparing agendas and materials.
Special Event Management
- Plan and execute cultivation and stewardship events and annual Gala, including logistical arrangements, vendor coordination, guest communications, and volunteer management.
- Manage event budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to timelines.
Corporate Partnership Campaigns
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to design and implement campaigns targeting corporate sponsorships.
- Develop sponsorship proposals and ensure fulfillment of partnership agreements.
Database & Reporting
- Maintain donor records in the CRM, ensuring accurate data entry and tracking of donor activities.
- Generate and analyze fundraising reports to support fundraising strategy and stakeholder reporting compliance.
Board Relations
- Work closely with the Executive Director to coordinate all aspects of Board engagement, including scheduling meetings, preparing and distributing materials, and drafting meeting minutes.
- Support the Board of Directors by managing communications, logistics, and follow-up for meetings and events.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on Board giving and engagement metrics.
General Office Support
- Coordinate the production of marketing materials for development purposes in partnership with the marketing team.
- Assist with administrative duties, including meeting preparation, scheduling, and recordkeeping.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required; a minimum of three years of professional experience in development, fundraising, or related fields.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with fundraising and CRM systems and, Google, Microsoft Office.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to build relationships with donors, board members, and volunteers.
- A self-starter with a customer service orientation and a problem-solving attitude.
- Passion for the arts and an understanding of the unique needs of a performing arts nonprofit.
